Abu Dhabi is one of the world’s richest oil reserves regions which have recently thrown itself into a massive programme of development. And one of the jewels in Abu Dhabi’s crown is the 5.55-kilometre Yas Marina Circuit, which on November 1, 2009, hosted the country’s inaugural Grand Prix. It was also the first F1 twilight race, with powerful lighting ensuring a seamless transition from day to night. Located at Yas Island the track is a shining example of modern Formula One circuit design. Formula One motor race scheduled to be held on 27 November 2016 at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It mark the eighth running of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the eighth time that the race has been run as a World Championship event since the inaugural season in 1950.

Defending race winner Nico Rosberg enters the round with a twelve point lead over team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the World Drivers’ Championship. Their team, Mercedes, hold a lead of two hundred and seventy-six points over Red Bull Racing in the World Constructors Championship.
